watercolour painting tips

Watercolor painting has the reputation of being quite demanding; it is more accurate to say that watercolor techniques are unique to watercolor. Unlike oil or acrylic painting, where the paints essentially stay where they are put and dry more or less in the form they are applied, water is an active and complex partner in the watercolor painting process, changing both the absorbency and shape of the paper when it is wet and the outlines and appearance of the paint as it dries. The difficulty in watercolor painting is almost entirely in learning how to anticipate and leverage the behavior of water, rather than attempting to control or dominate it.

Many difficulties occur because watercolor paints do not have high hiding power, so previous efforts cannot simply be painted over; and the paper support is both absorbent and delicate, so the paints cannot simply be scraped off, like oil paint from a canvas, but must be laboriously (and often only partially) lifted by rewetting and blotting. This often induces in student painters a pronounced and inhibiting anxiety about making an irreversible mistake. Watercolor has a longstanding association with drawing or engraving, and the common procedure to curtail such mistakes is to make a precise, faint outline drawing in pencil of the subject to be painted, to use small brushes, and to paint limited areas of the painting only after all adjacent paint areas have completely dried.

Photo collage

Sculpture
Sculpture is a three-dimensional artwork created by shaping or combining hard materials, typically stone such as marble, metal, glass, or wood, or plastic materials such as clay, textiles, polymers and softer metals. The term has been extended to works including sound, text and light.
Found objects may be presented as sculptures. Materials may be worked by removal such as carving; or they may be assembled such as by welding , hardened such as by firing, or moulded or cast. Surface decoration such as paint may be applied. Sculpture has been described as one of the plastic arts because it can involve the use of materials that can be moulded or modulated.
Sculpture is an important form of public art.

Photo Collage

Photo collage is the making of a composite photograph by cutting and joining a number of other photographs. The composite picture was sometimes photographed so that the final image is converted back into a seamless photographic print. A similar method, although one that does not use film, is realized today through image-editing software.

Impressionism

Q: What is impressionism?

A: Impressionism was a 19th-century art movement that began as a loose association of Paris-based artists whose independent exhibitions brought them to prominence in the 1870s and 1880s.

The characteristics of impressionism:
Characteristics of Impressionist paintings include visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience, and unusual visual angles. The emergence of Impressionism in the visual arts was soon followed by analogous movements in other media which became known as Impressionist music and Impressionist Literature.

Impressionist Literature

Impressionistic literature can basically be defined as when an author centers his story/attention on the character's mental life such as the character's impressions, feelings, sensations and emotions, rather than trying to interpret them.

Symbolism in Art

What is symbolism?

Symbolism was a late nineteenth-century art movement of French and Belgian origin in poetry and other arts. In literature, the movement had its roots in Les Fleurs du mal (The Flowers of Evil, 1857) by Charles Baudelaire. The works of Edgar Allan Poe, which Baudelaire greatly admired and translated into French, were a significant influence and the source of many stock tropes and images. The aesthetic was developed by Stephane Mallarme and Paul Verlaine during the 1860s and '70s. In the 1880s, the aesthetic was articulated through a series of manifestoes and attracted a generation of writers. The label "symbolist" itself comes from the critic Jean Moreas, who coined it in order to distinguish the symbolists from the related decadent movement in literature and art.
Distinct from, but related to, the movement in literature, symbolism in art represents an outgrowth of the darker, gothic side of Romanticism; but where Romanticism was impetuous and rebellious, symbolist art was static and hieratic.

a mother love

i find that having a mother that care and love us is better than striking lottery
the love she give us is like a gift from the god
her love would protect us from danger like a chick under a mother hen wings
her love she give is similar to a medicine
although something it bitter but can certainly cure most illness
no amount of money can buy mother love
with gratitude and to return our love back for her
by doing everything we could for her
in just one way or another
to express our love for her
many people can infer
that all mother are noble and caring
like all the superhero in the movie
protecting the people from the villian

Drawing

This picture symbolises the beauty of a mother. Mother is as beautiful as a butterfly, the colours on the butterfly tell us about a mother. The yellow part tells us how bright and cheerful is our mother while the red and pink parts tell us how loving and caring is our mother. Most of the time, they take care of us. But, they will get tired. So, we must learn to care for our mother and love her.

Poem

Precious Little Thought...

You, feed me,
You, care for me.
You, comfort me when I'm crying,
You, laugh with me when I'm laughing.
You, take care of my health,
You, take care of me when I'm not well.
You, are my beautiful mother,

And, I love you forever.

Firstly, the main picture. It depicts a long coil of barbed wire with a few stalks of roses wrapped or binded around it. This symbolises the harsh discipline and beauty that all mothers possess.

Following up, the heart below. Similar to the first, it has a length of barbed wire coiled around it. It also has a blade piercing through its middle. This symbolises the pain and suffering that mothers feel, but still they give all of their devoting love.

The goblet on the top left corner of the picture represents the blessings that i have supped from my mother's care.

The shield on the top right corner of the picture symbolises the will of mothers to protect their children and loved ones.

The flame on the bottom right of the picture represents the strong determination and perseverence that mothers have.

Lastly, the music note located at the bottom left of the picture symbolises the talents that my mother has invocated to me.

Mom, ther would be no me, if not for you.
Your affection, your sacrifices, your guidance,
have made me who I am.
You showed me the path,
to succeed, to endure, to persevere.
Without you, there would be an emptiness
I could never fill, no matter how I try.
Because of you,
I have joy, serenity, bliss, and peace
Thank you, mom.
I have always loved you,
as i have always.

Acrylic Painting Tip 1: Keeping Acrylic Paints WorkableBecause acrylics dry so fast, squeeze only a little paint out of a tube.

Acrylic Painting Tip 2: Blot your BrushesKeep a piece of paper towel or cloth next to your water jar and get into the habit of wiping your brushes on it after you rise them.

Acrylic Painting Tip 3: Acrylic vs Watercolour WashesWhen an acrylic wash dries, it's permanent and, unlike a watercolour wash, is insoluble and can be over-painted without fear of disturbing the existing wash.

Acrylic Painting Tip 4: Think Thin When Thinking GlazesIf you want transparent glazes, these should be built up in thin layers; a heavy layer will produce a glossy surface.

Acrylic Painting Tip 5: Blending Acrylic PaintsBecause acrylics dry rapidly, you need to work fast if you wish to blend colours. If you're working on paper, dampening the paper will increase your working time.

Acrylic Painting Tip 6: Hard EdgesMasking tape can be put onto and removed from dried acrylic paint without damaging an existing layer. This makes it easy to produce a hard or sharp edge.

Acrylic Painting Tip 7: Using Acrylic Paint as a Glue for CollageProvided it's used fairly thickly and the item to be stuck isn't too heavy, acrylic paint will work as a glue in a collage.

Poem

Oh Mother,

You are my pillar of support.
Without you, I wouldn't be able to be what I am now...
You are my hopes.
With the care and love that you shower on enables me to be a cheerful person.
You are my everything,
although at times i do hate you for your beatings.
But, I still wouldn't forget your love towards me.
Buying the food that I like, the clothes that I love...

Your care for me is just like a lioness caring for its cubs.

Painting

This picture is a mother caring for her daughter. When the daughter falls down, the mother will help her up as gentle as possible. It is just like a lioness caring for her cubs.

Poem

the thorns on the rose shows the strngth of my mother and the flower shows the beauty of my mother
Mother...

You're such a wonderful mother,

So gentle, yet so strong.

The ways you show your care

Always make me feel homely

You give guidance when I ask;

It seems you can do anything;

The master of the questions.

You're a dependable source of comfort;

You're my cushion when I fall.

You help in times of trouble.

You have my total respect.

If I had my choice of mothers,

You'd be the one I'd select!
